Goodreads Summary: Life can change in the blink of an eye.
And every choice can unravel more of the truth.
One split second decision after a lifetime of lies has created a world so confusing, happily ever after isn’t guaranteed. Not even when the stars align and the pieces fit perfectly into the puzzle.
This time, I’ll have to fight for love with a vice clamping my heart and a gaping hole swallowing my soul—absence won’t make the heart grow fonder.
Lies and deceit.
Broken promises and disappointment.
I know them all too well.
So far, the pain has won.
But the pain doesn’t have to be permanent.
My Rating: 2.5 Stars….(It’s not for me)

You all know that I love angsty books. But, guys, this one was too much, even for me. I was praying for it to be over about 50% in. It’s like when you buy an old house and the say “The bones are good, but the rest is crap.” that is this book. I hate to be that mean but its truth.
Now, it may be different for you than it was me, so don’t miss it if you think it peaks your interest. Here is the story. Basically, Megan and Conner Campbell were high school sweethearts, married with a sweet little girl. Megan is away for a week and she comes home to find a stranger sitting in her kitchen, talking of her cell phone. Obviously, the woman is there for Conner, but he is no where to be found and neither is Laney. Megan calls around and finds out both Conner and Laney were brought into the ER, they had been in a car accident.
Their daughter was injured and needed surgery on her legs and Megan’s best friend from high school, Dr. Garrett Kristoff is in charge of little Laney’s care. Garrett had always had a crush on Megan, honestly it seemed a tad stalkerish, but that’s just my opinion.
Here is what I wasn’t fond of with this read. Megan hops right into bed with Garrett. I know they were friends prior, but if it was me and I just discovered my whole life had been a lie, I think I would want time to mourn.
Garrett is so needy! He was always asking Megan if she needed him. Good Lord! And his sex bucket list he left her in the notebook. What in the holy hell was THAT?
I just wanted it to end. Like I said the bones were there, the filler was not needed. It was suspenseful, with the whole deal with Conner, but the crap with Garrett and Megan could have been a lot better. And Laney didn’t seem to care one bit her daddy was gone. She was already asking for a new one.
The ending was just crazy. I can’t even get into that.
Anyways, if you are still following and you haven’t read this book, check it out and tell me what your thoughts are.
