Goodreads Summary: 10 years ago, I lost her.
Now only Charlotte can melt my cold heart.

I made my billions, and then I built my fortress.
I was alone on my mountain.
Till she came.
I saved her, but she can’t remember her past.
And I can’t forget mine.
The winter storm trapped us together.
But I’ll keep her safe and warm.
With every caress, I’ll show her body what it craves.
With every kiss, I’ll mark her as my woman.
I know someone hurt her.
And that b@stard wants her back.
He doesn’t know who the f*ck he’s messing with.
Charlotte is mine now, and I’ll protect her no matter what.

But will she stay mine when her memories return?

*** This is a full length novel with a happily ever after, no cliffhanger, no cheating, and plenty of steam. ***

My-Thoughts

First of all, let us discuss this beautiful cover. Hello, where can we find this man? Maybe sometimes it is okay to judge a book by its cover because once again that is what I did. I grabbed this one solely on the title and cover.

Without given too much away, I will try to discuss this book and explain to you why you should read it!

The author R.R. Banks paints the pictures of each scene and keeps you hanging on, page after page.

Charlotte is invited to join her family on top of a mountain, in a luxurious cabin for Thanksgiving week. However, she does not get to enjoy the time off. She finds her self with amnesia and face to face with a dog named Scout and a man she has never met…or has she?

Micah, a self made millionaire with a past that he is running from. He stays to himself on the mountain with his dog. It turns out that Charlotte is running from her past too and that was exactly what got her into the situation she is in.

Together, they will over come the past and move on. Caution: it does contain sex (duh) and domestic violence.

Excerpt:

The night is nothing short of perfect. The air is warm, there’s barely any wind, and the moon is young, so the sky is dark, laced with thousands of stars. We find our spot along the beach, well away from the other stargazers, and set down our sleeping bags, a couple of blankets, and our cooler.
Our eighties playlist is playing softly in the background while we enjoy the night. Daniel takes photos, and every so often he shows me an image he’s caught on camera. I’m in awe. He really is amazing. The way he sees the world is so different from how most of us do – angles and frames and visions that capture the beauty of everything that surrounds us, including the stars. Even in the dark, I can see a twinkle in his eyes, that same look he has when he picks up his camera. Confident. In charge. Sexy.
I squeeze in between Daniel and the telescope and lean into the eyepiece. I’m instantly fascinated by what I see. The star flickers like it’s dancing in the sky. There are hues of red and orange and gold, and it sparkles like a gem.
I’m equally distracted because Daniel is standing right behind me. He hasn’t moved an inch. His chest presses against my back, and I tense for a moment, unsure of his intent. His scent makes its way to me, and my eyes flutter closed for an instant. I inhale and savor the way he makes me feel. My initial tense reaction gives way to a new one – one that confuses me and excites me all at the same time. Goosebumps cover my arms, and my breath hitches in my throat. I can’t help but shiver from the sparks that travel through my body.
His response is not what I expect. Yet, even though I’m afraid to admit it to myself, it’s quite possibly what I hoped for. He wraps his arms around me so they criss-cross just above my waist. He starts to rub my arms, warming my skin and melting the goosebumps – and my whole body. My mind is screaming, Do not cross the friendship boundary! No good can come of it. Thank goodness for my sensible brain. Too bad I don’t always listen to it.
On that thought, I can’t help but relax into him. His strong, lean frame envelops me, and I’m aware of the contours of his body and the heat that radiates between us. I nestle into his shoulder and look up at the stars above us. He buries his nose in my hair and inhales deeply. Here, away from the city lights, it seems as though it’s just Daniel and me and our newfound closeness.
“Hey, there’s a shooting star.” I point to where it’s trailing across the sky. “Did you see it?”
SweetBlissHope you made a wish,” he whispers in my ear, and I swear his lips graze my skin. I shiver again, unable to control my reaction.

From debut author Helena Rac, a sassy, sexy comic tale of second-chance romance and the many uses of icing. Tessa loves cupcakes. They’re tasty and comforting, and they’ve made her bakery a success. Men, on the other hand, are unreliable jerks who are bound to break her heart. Even if they’re hot enough to melt her frosting. Tessa is smitten with Luke after a less than graceful encounter on the streets of Chicago, and fate keeps reuniting them. She’s certain he’d be delicious in bed, but there’s just one problem: Tessa’s sworn off long-distance romances, and Luke lives in London. Besides, he’s proven himself to be bad news. Although Tessa’s sexy stranger swears to set aside his player ways after she carries out sweet revenge, she’s far too smart to believe in happily-ever-afters. Luke will need to use every weapon in his arsenal – including a spatula or two – to convince Tessa they’re meant to be together.

my-thoughts

Quiet Love is a tale of best friends. Best friends since birth, literally. Growing up together, Daniel and Rose were always best friends. When reaching adulthood, things began to change. So what was the best thing Daniel thought he could do? Leave.

When he returns, are things going to be different? He and Rose become room mates and attempt to go back to normal. But things are different, heated and awkward. One naked mishap and it has both of them scrambling to figure out what was going on.

Will it work or will things get too messy and they lose each other’s friendship? This was a GREAT book! I love friends to lovers romance stories! They are some of the best stories! Daniel and Rose’s relationship is very cool! Once things started moving along, it just felt perfect to me! I loved it!

Summary: I was never supposed to see him again.
One night of passion with a complete stranger.
My last tryst before senior year.
But I was lost the moment his tempting lips were on my skin.
His intense touch on my body.

It should have ended there.

But he’s not a stranger.
He’s my history teacher.
And wanting him is against the rules.
Off limits.
Forbidden.

Illicit.

my-thoughts I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been doing reviews for awhile now so you all most likely know my favorites. I like taboo love and forbidden love. So this was right up my alley.

Honest to God, I didn’t read the synopsis or anything prior to reading this book. Going in, I had no clue it would contain forbidden love. Somehow, I was able to predict exactly what was going to happen from the get go and that’s why I can only give it 3.5 stars.

Carson and Lynn’s story is great though, just not that original. If you go through my past reads, there are several that follow the same lines as this one.

Lynn and her friends were hanging out at the Hamptons for one last hurrah prior to her senior year of high school. She was suppose to be having the time of her life, but instead she ends up alone at the beach.

Carson, also at the party, was just too bored with the scene. He wanted to start his life, he was tired of the partying. He, too, ended up alone on the beach, or so he thought.

When Lynn and Carson meet, they both were seeing stars. But a few days later, reality struck when Carson turns out to be first period, Mr. Blake. Lynn was shocked to say the least.

However forbidden as their romance was, they were unable to stay away from one another. Drawn together like a moth to a flame. They shared a lot of similarities when it came to their families.

Regardless of the predictable plot, it is still a good read.

Until I Fall Ebook Cover (1)

I received an advanced reader copy of this book for an honest review.

This story will captivate you! It did me for sure!

This isn’t your average love story. Aspen is a ER doctor with dreams of owning her own pediatric practice with her best friend. She had endured the loss of her fiance Michael. For eleven years, she had been treading water, just making it through life with her best friends. That is until Anderson came along

Anderson “Hawk” is not your average Joe. He is a military man who’s job is a secret to most people. He is strong and courageous, but caring for his mother who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

When these two come together, its magical. There will be joy and laughter and THERE WILL BE TEARS! I repeat tears. This book will teach you to live life and love fearlessly.

my-thoughts

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review via Netgalley.

Vanishing Act by A.M. Madden is a story of the famous Landon Price. He is the hottest male actor in Hollywood at the moment , but he needs a break. He has had a rough year in his personal life and he just didn’t have it in him to carry on without a little vacation.

Despite the protesting of his agent, Roger, he went on a sabbatical to Hawaii. He discovered this town that was supposedly stuck in time. A very small town with a bungalow to rent. While traveling and on this vacation, his used an alias, Lance White.

Not long after arriving, a white furry ball of fluff shows up at his doorstep. so naturally Lance A.K.A Landon goes on the hunt for the dogs owner. Once he found her, he was knocked off his feet by Zara.

Insta-love pursues. Zara, like the rest of the town of Lanai, have no clue who Lace really is. Lance tries his best to get Zara to give him a chance, but using her dog, Marshmallow as bait to get to her.

It was a pretty good read. I just hate the insta-love in books. I want there to be that falling in love aspect with a little drama and angst.

Goodreads Summary: “Where you are is home…”

At age fourteen, Zelda Rossi witnessed the unthinkable, and has spent the last ten years hardening her heart against the guilt and grief. She channels her pain into her art: a dystopian graphic novel where vigilantes travel back in time to stop heinous crimes—like child abduction—before they happen. Zelda pitches her graphic novel to several big-time comic book publishers in New York City, only to have her hopes crash and burn. Circumstances leave her stranded in an unfamiliar city, and in an embarrassing moment of weakness, she meets a guarded young man with a past he’d do anything to change…

Beckett Copeland spent two years in prison for armed robbery, and is now struggling to keep his head above water. A bike messenger by day, he speeds around New York City, riding fast and hard but going nowhere, his criminal record holding him back almost as much as the guilt of his crime.

Zelda and Beckett form a grudging alliance of survival, and in between their stubborn clash of wills, they slowly begin to provide each other with the warmth of forgiveness, healing, and maybe even love. But when Zelda and Beckett come face to face with their pasts, they must choose to hold on to the guilt and regret that bind them, or let go and open their hearts for a shot at happiness.

The Butterfly Project is a novel that reveals the power of forgiveness, and how even the smallest decisions of the heart can—like the flutter of a butterfly’s wings—create currents that strengthen into gale winds, altering the course of a life forever.

My Rating: 5 Stars!!

There are times when you read a book and you just sit there, stunted and speechless. That is exactly how I feel after reading The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott. I had the honor of receiving this as an ARC read and it was so amazing.

Emma Scott is a new author to me, I wasn’t sure how this book was going to be going in, but once I started turning the pages, I was sucked into this story so hard, I devour it!

The book is split up into three sections. In the first section we meet Zelda Rossi. Poor Zelda had witnessed something terrible ten years ago that rocked her to her core. To this day she wasn’t the same. She suffered from panic attacks and fear. Zelda did one think that helped her get a little relief. She created a graphic novel. She had came to New York City to attempt to get her graphic novel up released. Unfortunately, she didn’t have any luck what to so ever. She was sure she was going to have to pack up what was left of her belongings and hit the road for home. That was until she met Beckett.

Beckett Copeland was working two jobs to try to stay afloat in New York, his home. He had a rent payment that was coming soon that he wasn’t sure he could even pay. With not only that on his shoulders, he couldn’t shake his past. He had made one mistake three years ago and he was haunted by it every day of his life. He was heavy laden from the guilt. He did the one thing he thought could possibly bring him some peace. He wrote.

When Zelda reaches out to Beckett shortly after their introduction to one another for help. Beckett was for sure that once she knew the truth of her past, she would turn around and change her tune. Zelda, however was strong and sure that together, they would learn how to survive, at least for a little while.

What happens after the alliance of these two was marvelous. It is told is dual point of view so you can get the thoughts of both characters. And when you do, you can feel this story unfolding right along with them. Emma Scott does an amazing job as she takes hold of your emotions until the very end of the story.

The Butterfly Project is about learning acceptance of yourself and your past as well as a coming home story. A home you did not know you were missing until you find it!

Goodreads Summary: Small town girl Sadie continues to live in the city after finishing university. She finds work as a journalist which ultimately leads to her passion of writing romance novels. Sadie becomes an accomplished author of many New York Times best sellers. At the beginning of her success she is picked up by Levi, a literary agent to represent her. They become close friends and business associates over the years. What happens when Sadie writes her latest novel about the love she has for him? Will she publish it at the risk of losing him as an agent and best friend?

My Rating: 5 Stars!

my-thoughts

I was asked by the author to read this book and to give an honest review. This is the first book by the author and I have to say…she nailed it!

The story follows Sadie an author living in Toronto as she writes her next big hit and realizes that she is and has been in love with her literary agent Levi. She was experiencing a bad case of writer’s block when the idea hits her. She will write about the love she has for Levi. The only thing is, Levi is in a relationship and she isn’t sure how he feels about her.

I think there is a time in everyone’s life were they like/love someone and you are unsure if they feel the same. And you are never sure if the timing is right or if you should take the leap.

The characters in the book are easy to relate to and are very well developed and likable. You will want to be their friend and heck, it will make you want to read Sadie’s books!

This book will make you laugh and will make you feel good. The only downside is I wish is was longer! I wanted more of what happens at the end. We may hear more of the story because this is a series! Can’t wait to read the next one!

Check this one out, you won’t want to put it down!

My name is Melody Greene, and I did something bad because it made me feel good.
Here is why it was totally worth it.

my-thoughts

You all know how I am about forbidden love, so this was right up my alley. I read Vicious first and then this one, but they can be read any order. If you do read Vicious first, you will know how this one ends kinda.

Defy is the story of Jamie Followhill, the son of the school principal and Melody Greene, a 26 year old ex-ballerina who is now a English Lit teacher. She is close to getting fired and ends of hitting the principal’s car. Jamie jumps in and saves the day, making it seem to be his fault.

This romance is raw and intense and the fact that it is forbidden makes it even better. You will forget Jamie is only 19 because he seems so mature.

It is kinda of a small book but don’t let that stop you, it doesn’t seem rushed. With the wonderful writing that is within L.J. Shen books, you will love it! You wont want it to end.
